What is Bikram Yoga?


Bikram Yoga, the original “Hot Yoga,” is a series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises practiced in a specific order.  Each posture, or asana, is a challenge based on your own personal ability.  The postures are the same in every class; it is your body and mind that will change and make your experience in each class different.

Bikram Yoga is practiced in a heated room to 105° F with 40% humidity – you will sweat and detoxify.  The heat also helps to relax the muscles allowing for deeper more effective stretching.  The practice moves fresh oxygenated blood to every part of the body, stimulating organs, glands, and nerves restoring all systems to a healthier working order.  Each posture stretches and strengthens the body’s muscles, ligaments, and tendons.  The result is a strong and powerful body and mind.

All levels are welcome regardless of physical shape or ability; just bring your willingness to try and some water!
